I delivered WaPo as a teenager and never had too many problems with collections. Tough job if you can’t get your collections done though, and Sunday papers were the worst.
I have actually worked for 2 newspapers - remember when we lived in Garland? I actually worked for the Dallas Herald selling subscriptions. Then when I lived in Ann Arbor I worked on the line inserting those coupons and funnies into the Sunday paper there. You are right, it does suck.
